Valley’s SHINE Award
Lennon Hurr
We are very excited to announce that 3rd grader Lennon Hurr is Valley’s December recipient of the SHINE award for the 2023-2024 school year. Our Character Education program is a key component to helping our students understand what it means to lead and to be good citizens. Every month, we honor one student who consistently demonstrates two or more pillars of character which are: Citizenship, Caring, Trustworthiness, Fairness, Respect, and Responsibility. To recognize these students for their efforts, Beavercreek City Schools has created the “SHINE Award – Highlighting Outstanding Students of Character.”
This is how Lennon’s teacher, Mrs. Rutledge, describes her:
“Lennon is one of the kindest people I’ve ever met. She is a very gentle soul and her peers very much respond to her gentleness. Lennon can often be found helping her peers, especially those who need help, but will not ask. She never helps others for personal recognition. She genuinely wants everyone to be their best self and I love that about her.
Lennon is responsible with her belongings, her desk at school, and her schoolwork. She always tries her best on work and never hesitates to ask for help when she needs it. She is confident, but humble- a wonderful quality I admire in Lennon. I know if I ask her to do something, she will do it with her whole heart.
Lennon is a special person and deserves the Shine Award for many, many reasons. Congratulations!!”
Way to go, Lennon! We are lucky to have you as a member of the Valley family!
