Valley’s SHINE Award
June Miller
We are very excited to announce that Kindergartener June Miller is Valley’s April recipient of the SHINE award for the 2023-2024 school year. Our Character Education program is a key component to helping our students understand what it means to lead and to be good citizens. Every month, we honor one student who consistently demonstrates two or more pillars of character which are: Citizenship, Caring, Trustworthiness, Fairness, Respect, and Responsibility. To recognize these students for their efforts, Beavercreek City Schools has created the “SHINE Award – Highlighting Outstanding Students of Character.”
This is how June’s teachers, Mrs. Foster and Mrs. Powell, describe her: “June not only shines in her academics as she is very self-disciplined, but also in her heart. June shines in our classroom and the school with her kind and humble spirit. I can always count on June to be the first student to clean up and come to the carpet for a lesson, showing PAX quiet without being asked, and always patiently raising her hand. Her respect for herself, other students, and our classroom shines every day. June is a fun friend, but also kind and compassionate. She is always willing to help pick up someone else’s mess left out or help a friend without being asked. June is the epitome of treating others as you would want to be treated. We are so lucky to have June in our class & present her this Shine Award!”
Way to go, June! You are amazing!
