🌟 Staff Spotlight: Katey Ford 🌟
Let's shine a spotlight on Katey Ford, one of the invaluable members of our transportation department! 🚌 With eight years of dedicated service to the district, Katey wears multiple hats as a bus driver and on-board instructor.
When asked about the most influential person in her career, Katey credits Lindy Shumaker. Her favorite memory at BCS is when Lindy offered her the OBI position. "I know it's what I'm meant to do," says Katey. "Our transportation department is crucial, and we all strive to do our best. I'm grateful to be part of that."
Outside of work, Katey cherishes family time and cheers on her son at baseball games. For her, being a part of the Creek family means building strong relationships within the Beavercreek District. "I love the Beavercreek District and the relationships I've formed, not only with my coworkers but also the families in the district," she shares. 🚌 #StaffSpotlight #BeavercreekPride 🌟

🌟 Staff Spotlight: Marlyn Strickland 🌟
Meet Marlyn! Marlyn is our dedicated HR and Payroll Coordinator, bringing ten years of invaluable experience to our district. He is also Rooted in Our Community as a 2009 BHS graduating class member.
When asked about the most influential person in his career, Marlyn humbly acknowledges his parents. Their unwavering support and the values they instilled in him have been the guiding force behind his journey. From attending his performances to cheering him on through career changes, Marlyn's parents have been his pillars of strength.
Among Marlyn's fondest memories at BCS is the exhilarating moment when the indoor percussion ensemble reached the Winter Guard International World Championships finals in 2019. The students' sheer joy and excitement upon learning this was truly unforgettable. Marlyn's pride in their performance and fond memories of the staff and students are a testament to his dedication and impact within our organization.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Marlyn is a passionate biker and golfer. He continues to nurture his love for music by teaching marching band and indoor percussion, judging competitions, and playing trombone in local groups. One of the highlights was this stunning ceramic and real wood tree, adorned with intricate roots symbolizing how Trebein is deeply rooted in our wonderful community. Students and parents could express their connection to Trebein by writing heartfelt messages on leaves and hanging them on the tree. 🍃💬
Congrats to all of our Trebein artists on a great show! #TrebeinElementary

Trebein loves our military kids!

🌟 Creek Fact Friday! 🌟
Did you know Karen Clark, our longest-serving bus driver, has been driving for the district for almost 40 years? Since August 27, 1984, Karen has been dedicated to safely transporting students to and from Coy, BHS, and Trebein. #CreekFactFriday

On Friday, Trebein’s first graders were visited by our Everybody Counts volunteers to learn about visual differences. Students experienced some hands-on activities: They examined their own eyes with a mirror, read a book about eyes, heard from a non-sighted student, learned about Braille, looked at tactile books and games, worked to use their other senses to figure things out, and used an interactive app to see what their vision would look like with various conditions, like cataracts and macular degeneration. Our Everybody Counts volunteers work to make sure each grade learns about a different type of difference or disability each year to help students understand various conditions and to remember not only that differences aren’t bad, but also that we are all much more alike than we are different.

It was a great day to wear PURPLE! 💜
Thank you to everyone who participated in PURPLE UP DAY to help honor and celebrate our military-connected students!
