Dr. Dackin Visit

On January 9, 2025, Beavercreek City Schools hosted two special guests at Jacob Coy Middle School: Stephen Dackin, Ohio Department of Education and Workforce Director, and Anurupa Ganguly, Founder and CEO of Prisms.

During their visit, Dackin and Ganguly observed 8th-grade students engaging in an immersive science lesson on Mitosis using Prisms Virtual Reality (VR)โ€”the worldโ€™s first spatial learning platform.

โ€œYouโ€™re among the first kids in the US and the world to learn like this,โ€ Ganguly told the students. โ€œYour feedback is going to shape this generation in a whole new way. In ten years, everyone will learn differently.โ€

This year marks the beginning of Coy Middle Schoolโ€™s journey with Prisms VR, making it a trailblazer in integrating cutting-edge technology into the classroom. Using VR goggles and software, students dive into a virtual environment that fosters curiosity, enhances problem-solving, and builds strong connections between academic concepts and their real-world applications.

Ohio was the first state to adopt Prisms, and the platform is now being used in 39 states and 53 school districts across Ohio, showcasing the stateโ€™s leadership in advancing education through technology.

Beavercreek City Schools is proud to be part of this innovative movement, preparing students for a future where technology and education coexist.
