On January 9, 2025, Beavercreek City Schools hosted two special guests at Jacob Coy Middle School: Stephen Dackin, Ohio Department of Education and Workforce Director, and Anurupa Ganguly, Founder and CEO of Prisms.
During their visit, Dackin and Ganguly observed 8th-grade students engaging in an immersive science lesson on Mitosis using Prisms Virtual Reality (VR)โthe worldโs first spatial learning platform.
โYouโre among the first kids in the US and the world to learn like this,โ Ganguly told the students. โYour feedback is going to shape this generation in a whole new way. In ten years, everyone will learn differently.โ
This year marks the beginning of Coy Middle Schoolโs journey with Prisms VR, making it a trailblazer in integrating cutting-edge technology into the classroom. Using VR goggles and software, students dive into a virtual environment that fosters curiosity, enhances problem-solving, and builds strong connections between academic concepts and their real-world applications.
Ohio was the first state to adopt Prisms, and the platform is now being used in 39 states and 53 school districts across Ohio, showcasing the stateโs leadership in advancing education through technology.
Beavercreek City Schools is proud to be part of this innovative movement, preparing students for a future where technology and education coexist.
