🏅 Coy Middle School Shines at Power of the Pen Tournament! 🖋️ On Saturday, January 1h, Coy Middle School students showcased their incredible writing talents at the Power of the Pen district tournament! 🎉 Congratulations to: ⭐ 7th grader Ayla Kempf for placing 5th and advancing to the regional tournament. ⭐ 8th grader Zara McAninch for placing 2nd and advancing to the regional tournament. 👏 Also, a special shoutout to the 7th grade team, which placed 2nd overall for total team points! 7th Grade Team: Ayla Kempf, Leyna Ruwaldt, Emilia Root, Sara Oshitani, Lujien Mohammed, and Sienna Pilkington. 🏒 The Beavercreek High School Hockey Team had an unforgettable experience this week, playing against Gahanna Lincoln at Nationwide Arena, home of the NHL’s Columbus Blue Jackets! 🌟 Exciting News from Valley Elementary Writing Club! 🌟 Valley Elementary is proud to announce that eight talented young writers have been selected for publication in the Young Writer's Annual Showcase 2024 - Creative Minds, set to be released in February 2025. Each student revisited and self-edited a piece of writing from fourth grade, refining it for this special opportunity. Their dedication and creativity earned high praise from Editor Debbie Killingworth, who said, "Having all your students' work chosen is something to be proud of—it doesn't happen every day! 🎓 Alumni Spotlight: Andrew Kruger, Class of 2019 🎓 Andrew Kruger's journey is one of resilience, determination, and support. "When I found out I was a student with a learning disability, I was labeled as 'different' and told I couldn't learn like others. I thought going to college was impossible. Even in high school, it felt out of reach. But five years later, in December 2024, I graduated with my bachelor's degree!" Andrew credits much of his success to the unwavering encouragement of his Beavercreek High School teachers and IEP team. "Special shoutout to Ms. Florence Tillman and Mrs. Schmidt for pushing me to never give up. I couldn't have done it without them!" Andrew's story is a powerful reminder that anything is possible with perseverance and the right support. The Ankeney Middle School RISE program has completed its first successful PBL project! The talented students in the program designed and implemented a beverage cart to celebrate the amazing staff members at AMS. ☕️🍫 Staff were treated to handcrafted hot cocoa and coffee drinks, thoughtfully designed and delivered by the students. In addition, the RISE students collected non-perishable food items and donations from staff to support the local organization Feed the Creek. 🧡🖤 What an incredible display of teamwork, creativity, and kindness!
