Welcome to Shaw Elementary’s art room news!

This year we will have a digital art show that will be available for viewing as soon as you activate your child’s Artsonia account.

We’re also excited to be participating again this year with www.Artsonia.com, an online student art museum. Artsonia manages school art galleries in a safe and educational manner, developing students’ pride and self-esteem and involving families in students’ art education. I will continue photographing the majority of your child’s artwork to be included in the Artsonia online art gallery which will also serve as our art show this year.

Artsonia provides several online features such as fan clubs and personal guest books as a way for families to encourage the creativity of their young artists. In addition, family members can purchase keepsakes imprinted with their child’s artwork, with Artsonia donating 20% of the product revenue back to our school’s art program.

Here’s how Artsonia works at Shaw: As students complete projects, I photograph the majority of their artwork and upload the projects to Artsonia’s online gallery. I will be the only one able to view your child’s work unless you sign-up and activate an account for your student. Once you sign-up and activate their account, then you will be able to view your child’s artwork and share it with family and friends. If you signed up for an account last year, then your login information is the same. You do not need to create a new account for your student. If you are new to Shaw or did not create an account last year, I encourage you to sign-up for an account so you may benefit from this wonderful on-line art gallery!
