Board of Education

Meet the Board Members

There are five memebers of the Beavercreek Board of Education, all of whom are elected by taxpayers for four-year terms. Current members of the Board inlcude: 

Jo Ann Rigano is a retired educator with 30 years of professional experience.  She began her career in Fairfax County, Virginia, where she taught both first and second grades.  After moving to Ohio with her husband, she spent a year teaching third grade in Dayton Public Schools, followed by a year at St. Luke Catholic School in Beavercreek where she taught second grade.  She accepted a job with the Beavercreek City School District in 1989, and spent 24 years teaching first, second and third grade students at Valley Elementary. 

Jo Ann earned her Bachelor of Arts in Education from Marymount College of Virginia and a Master of Science in Education from the University of Dayton.  She has won numerous awards for excellence in education, including the National Daily Points of Light Award, the Beavercreek Chamber of Commerce Educator of the Year Award, and the Greene County Educator of the Year Award.  Jo Ann is a member of Bella Villa Lodge and the Beavercreek Women’s League.  She and her husband have a son who works in emergency medicine.

Krista Hunt is the proud parent of a 2023 graduate of BHS and another to graduate in 2026.  Krista is an active community volunteer and advocate for Beavercreek City Schools.  After graduating from Wright State University with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a minor in business, Krista spent nine years in the retail sector.  During that time, she worked as a Store Manager for Elder Beerman, Assistant Store Manager for Banana Republic, and a Personnel/Operations Manager for Kohl's.  Currently, Krista is a ministry assistant for the NextGen Ministries at her church.  She is currently serving her third term on the Board of Education.  

 To give back to the communities and people she cares deeply about, Krista serves in a variety of volunteer roles.  Her service includes teaching Sunday School to high school girls, volunteering as a mentor through the Miami Valley Leadership Foundation, and serving with Shoes4theShoeless, a faith-based charity that provides shoes and socks for children in need.  Krista is married to Andrew, a local municipal court judge.

Gene Taylor is an active and dedicated Beavercreek resident who works tirelessly to make our community a better place to live. He is a small business owner, local job creator, and entrepreneur. For 30 years, he has served as CEO of Gene Taylor Builders Incorporated, a respected building and remodeling company. Gene served Beavercreek City Schools as a teacher, social studies department chair, and wrestling coach while at Shaw Elementary and Ferguson Middle School. Gene has four children who are proud graduates of Beavercreek City Schools.

Denny Morrison, along with his wife Roz and their family, have been residents of Beavercreek since 1990. Denny is a lifelong educator, serving as a teacher, coach, assistant principal, principal, business manager, curriculum director, family and community engagement coordinator, superintendent, and now board of education member. Denny is serving on the school board to help continue the tradition of excellence in our school district in a fiscally responsible way. He wants our schools to be the heart of the community.

Nathan (Danny) Boone has served in a variety of roles focused on youth, families, and the community, including working as a juvenile public defender, guardian ad litem, youth coach in Beavercreek, and mentor. Through his professional and volunteer experience, he has worked closely with students, families, and educators and has firsthand exposure to challenges facing schools.

A lifelong Beavercreek resident, his family has called the community home for three generations. Danny grew up in Beavercreek, graduating from Beavercreek High School in 2008. He earned his Bachelor's degree in political science with a minor in legal communication from Wright State University in 2013 and graduated from the University of Louisville School of Law in 2016. He and his wife, Deborah, have 4 children.
