🌟 Staff Spotlight: Jami Russ 🌟
This week, we are shining a spotlight on Jami Russ, a 10th-grade English teacher at BHS. Jami's contributions to the district since the fall of 2002 have been significant, making her a valued member of our community.
When asked who her career's most influential person is, Jami credits her former colleague Kathy Hovey. She says Kathy showed her that it is okay to challenge students to do more than they think they can and that being different is something we should all embrace and encourage.
Jami hopes that her students learn the value of hard work and that anything worth having is worth putting in the effort to achieve.
"I wish people knew that our teachers have many interests and talents and offer their children so much more than just academic knowledge. We see their kids as "ours" from the moment they walk in our doors and think of them as an extension of our family. Our teachers devote more time and emotional energy inside and outside school than community members could ever understand."
Thank you, Jami, for being a member of our Creek family! 🧡🖤
