🩺 A big thank you to nurse Carrie Kabanov for visiting the Medical Detective classes at Coy and Ankeney Middle Schools! 🏫 Carrie gave students a hands-on introduction to wound care as a way to explore the integumentary system. She also shared insights about the nursing profession, teaching students about heartbeats and CPR, all while tying it into the circulatory system.
Thank you, Carrie, for inspiring our future medical professionals! 👏 #MedicalDetectives #CoyMiddleSchool #AnkeneyMiddleSchool

Kicking Off Science with Fun and Curiosity in Mr. Shaw's Class! 🔬🌈
Mr. Shaw's class at Shaw Elementary started their science lessons this year by learning how scientists ask questions and make observations. To practice, they did a fun "Skittles Lab" to answer the question, "What happens when you pour water over Skittles?"
Each student arranged Skittles in a bowl, made careful observations, and recorded what they saw on their lab sheet. When the water was poured, the students were amazed as the colors ran off the candy and formed beautiful patterns in the water! 🎨#AtShawWithShaw
🐾📚 Parkwood and Ruby the Reading Dog are making reading fun!
This week, Ruby helped deliver over 325 books to our students and will be back tomorrow to deliver even more! The students were fantastic—great listeners, respectful, and using their manners. We love seeing our students excited about reading!

🧪✨ Mr. Minnich’s Science Class at Valley Elementary had a blast learning the scientific method by making slime!
Students experimented with different materials to discover which ones work best for creating the perfect slime. A fun and hands-on way to dive into science! 🧫👐
🔬🧬 Exciting things are happening at Beavercreek High School with our new Biomedical Science Pathway!
Students in the Principles of Biomedical Science class were tasked with investigating a mysterious incident that occurred during class. Officer Unroe initially secured the scene before handing it off to the students to analyze and determine the cause and circumstances surrounding the event. 🕵️♀️🔍
This hands-on experience is a thrilling way for students to dive into real-world biomedical science!
🧪✨ Last week, Mrs. McCormick’s 3rd grade class at Shaw Elementary had an exciting time learning about termites and the scents they follow!
The students explored how termites respond to different shapes, colors, and materials virtually—what a fun way to dive into science! 🐜🔍

Thank you to everyone who inspires these future educators every day and to Mr. Enneking for the fantastic lesson idea! 🍎 #CreekTeacherAcademy #FutureEducators
Mrs. Hemmerich’s third graders at Shaw Elementary have been working hard practicing their reading stamina. 📚
It only took them four days to reach their goal of reading independently for 30 minutes! To celebrate their achievement, they threw a reading party! 🎉
Students brought blankets, pillows, and stuffed animals to get cozy while they read books, listened to stories, or shared a book with a friend.
Great job, third graders! #ReadingRocks #ShawElementary #BcreekSchools
Ankeney and Coy Students in our Medical Detectives classes are diving into the new year with hands-on learning! 🧤
They recently put on gloves coated with GloGerm lotion to simulate dirty gloves. After mastering the proper technique to remove them, they checked under a black light to see if they avoided contamination. A great way to start the year! #BCSMedicalDetectives #HandsOnLearning #BCreekSchools
