School-Age Disability Categories

School-age services identify children under various disability categories as defined by Ohio Administrative Code Rules 3301-51-01 to 09, 11 and 21.

Special education services are provided for students who are eligible under the following disability categories:

  • Autism

  • Deaf and blind

  • Developmental delay

  • Emotional disturbance

  • Hearing impaired (including deafness)

  • Intellectual disability

  • Multiple disabilities

  • Orthopedic impairment

  • Other health impairment (minor or major)

  • Specific learning disability

  • Speech or language impairment

  • Traumatic brain injury

  • Visual impaired (including blindness)
